Fingering / Sock:
Steady Sock is our standard fingering weight yarn. This is a 4-ply yarn, with a blend of 75% Superwash Merino Wool and 25% Nylon. That combo makes for a strong yarn that is resilient but still very soft! Delicious to knit with and very comfortable against the skin. This blend and ply count is a favorite among sock knitters and many who like to knit with fingering/sock weight yarns

Smooth Sock is our brand new fingering weight yarn! This is a 4-ply yarn, with a scrumptious blend of 85% Extra Fine (19.5 Micron) Superwash Merino Wool and 15% Nylon. This super soft, bouncy yarn, is amazing for next to skin projects! Spun with longer staple length to reduce pilling common with fine micron counts and the addition of nylon, this is still a very durable yarn, but would recommend caution if you’re planning on knitting socks or other high wear item.

Alpaca Sock is a new addition to our fingering weight bases, made with 100% Baby Alpaca fibers! This untreated yarn base is super soft (can be softer than merino!) and naturally hypoallergenic, so great for those who might be allergic or sensitive to lanolin. We wash and dye all of our Alpaca yarn separately from all of our other bases and use soap that doesn’t contain lanolin to reduce the risk of allergies.
This is a 4-ply yarn, with a natural light ecru base color, and colors will tend to be a little bit more gentle. If you’ve never worked with Alpaca yarn before, please keep in mind that it’s specially important to swatch for your project, as the resulting fabric using this fiber tends to have a little more drape than yarns made with sheep fibers.
This is an untreated fiber, meaning it is not superwash and extra care must be taken to handwash your projects. I assure you it is well worth the extra time required.
The term “Baby” is related to softness of the fiber shorn from the adult alpaca that produce this super soft fleece, and not taken from any actual baby alpaca (which are called Cria, if you’re curious!)

While some of our yarn bases are Superwash treated, we still highly recommend using a mild detergent/soap, washing and rinsing in cool water and laying flat to dry. This ensures that your project stays looking fresh and beautiful for longer.
When so much love, time and – let’s be honest – money, goes into making something, it’s always worth the bit of extra care it takes to look after it.
Your yarn gets a lot of love before coming to live with you!
All of our skeins get rinsed a few times to ensure there’s no excessive bleeding and then get a nice soak in Eucalan to help keep them nice, fluffy and happy!
Part of the beauty and art of hand-dyed yarns is that no two will ever be the same.
If you’re working on a larger project and will require more than one skein, please make sure to order enough to finish your project to minimize the natural differences that occur from batch to batch.
For larger projects it’s good practice to alternate 2 skeins at a time to help blend the variations of each skein, specially if you want to prevent color pooling. To do this you’ll alternate skeins every few rows.
Our yarns are checked and triple checked to make sure the colors are well set. That being said, a little bit of color bleeding is common on the first wash of all yarns and fibers (think, brand new blue jeans for example), so if this happens to you, don’t worry, it’ll be alright. If for any reason you have an issue with your yarn, get in touch and I will make sure we get it sorted out. I’m here for you, always feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns!
